When I meet your dog or puppy, I will assess his or her unique style of learning, and tailor our lessons to get the best possible results.

My beginner program offers obedience basics such as sit, stay, come and heel (walking nicely on lead), as well as outdoor socialization with people and other dogs. All of my methods and protocols are gentle and humane.

If your dog meets certain criteria, I can train him/her to be a wheelchair assistance dog. I teach dogs of sound and gentle temperament to perform a number of helpful tasks, including but not limited to retrieving, calling for help, opening doors of various kinds, and carrying light supplies. It's remarkable to see the skills that dogs are able to learn to help their physically challenged owners become more independent and mobile.

If your dog shows sound and gentle temperament, I can train him/her to be a therapy dog. I accept dogs of all breeds. Visitation to senior centers, children's hospitals and assisted living facilities can greatly enhance the lives of those who love the joy and comfort a dog can share. What a rewarding experience for both owner and dog.

Service Dogs perform specialized tasks. They differ in criteria from Therapy and Emotional Support Dogs. I will be happy to explain the differences and requirements of this training as well as the programs I offer to help you on your way.

Obey Dog Training provides expert witness services for dog-related litigation. Evaluations regarding dog bites, potentially dangerous dogs and other issues are handled professionally and confidentially.

Obey Dog Training provides the community with educational seminars. My after-school programs for children ages pre-school and up focus on dog safety protocols that are age appropriate. I hold seminars about dog behavior and training tips throughout the surrounding area in libraries and in outdoor venues. I can also hold a seminar to promote your 501 charity or organization.

I evaluate dogs and puppies that present dog- and people-directed aggression. I will establish your dog's aggression history using a standardized aggression screening intake form, and by observing your dog's behavior. This screening helps to target the range, intensity and frequency of the aggression, allowing me to outline proper, humane and safe recommendations to modify the behavior. Training options and methods are discussed and demonstrated during my initial consultation with you.

Any and all information regarding potentially dangerous dogs is strictly confidential. As with all training programs, a signed liability release form, which I provide, is required. Outcomes can vary, depending on the results of the screening process and the comfort level of the family members involved.
